Yin and Yang blood is a very important factor in the zombification of a person.
The formation of a zombie, as explained by the Taoist Mao Xiaofang from Maoshan, involves "a drop of Yin and Yang blood, sealing a lifetime of grievances and karma."
This means that the uniquely formed Yin and Yang blood is smeared on the lips of a dying person, sealing their final bit of Yang energy, allowing it to cleverly take over a new body, leading to the person becoming a zombie — not a living person, nor a dead one, but an undead being outside the three realms.
There are four common types of Yin and Yang blood, one of them being the menstrual blood of a very promiscuous woman. Smearing this menstrual blood on the lips of a dying person can lead to their zombification.
A heart demon is a certain obsession of a person that keeps them from finding peace.
Corpse energy is the gas exhaled from a body that has not decayed for a long time. This is why there are groups of zombies in tombs — generally, when a zombie is zombified, it exhales a large amount of corpse energy, which infects other bodies.
Excessive and intense hatred can make a body unwilling to pass on and instead turn into a zombie.
Yin and Yang blood of zombies is smudged on their lips. By eliminating this smudge, the zombie dies like a soulless person.
Now that Shi Yin has swallowed Yue Yun's Yin and Yang blood and sensed that he was being lured by a heart demon, I asked Shi Yin if he could feel what kind of heart demon Yue Yun was being affected by.
In the human world, there is no one who is not affected by a heart demon's temptation. Some people are determined to make a lot of money, some are determined to attend a prestigious university, some are determined to find a spouse. If these thoughts are not controlled and allowed to develop, they become obsessions and turn into a heart demon.
For example, some students want to attend a prestigious university, which is a fine wish, but if they don't get into one and choose to jump off a building, or feel worthless for the rest of their lives because they didn't attend a prestigious university, this is considered a form of being invaded by a heart demon.
Excessive obsession is a form of heart demon.
I have also studied some Buddhist scriptures, and the whole scripture emphasizes the cultivation of the mind, cultivating to "refine the heart demon."
The Buddha mentioned the eight sufferings in life: birth, aging, illness, death, not getting what is sought, the five skandhas, love and separation, resentments and grievances.
The first four kinds of suffering are human physiological features, while the latter four are heart demons.
Not getting what is sought: When something desired is unattainable, it causes immense suffering, in fact, this is the desire of the heart demon.
The five skandhas: Form, Sensation, Perception, Mental Formation, and Consciousness, having excessively strong desires for these, causing immense suffering, is actually greed from the heart demon.
Love and separation: When a loved one leaves, causing immense suffering, it is actually grief from the heart demon.
Resentments and grievances: Not wanting to see someone you dislike, but feeling extreme resentment upon seeing them, causing immense suffering, is actually anger from the heart demon.
With too many heart demons, our life is essentially a discipline.
Not only do people like us, who delve in the Yin, practice, every living person is in the practice of life.
Yue Yun was so corroded by the heart demon that he finally turned into a dark-haired zombie, truly tragic.
Shi Yin shook his head, saying he could only sense that Yue Yun was enveloped by Yin and Yang blood due to a heart demon, but did not know which kind of heart demon he was affected by.
"Alright, I have to thank you for today's events," I patted Shi Yin on the shoulder.
Shi Yin smiled and said it was nothing, asking me to remember to help clear his record.
Zhao Changfeng also told me that the next time there's work, he would like to be called. After saying that, he laughed and left.
After seeing them off, those of us who were still there got busy. Da Jinya and I were responsible for inspecting Yue Yun's body. Didn't Huang Pizi say there was a copper coin hanging from Yue Yun's neck?
This needs to be checked carefully.
Han Li and the policemen had to handle the scene and arrange for the deceased officers' needs. They were also very busy.
Da Jinya and I carried Yue Yun's body to the corner.
Da Jinya reached out, pulled open Yue Yun's clothes, and between his chest, indeed there was a copper coin pendant.
When I went to check before, I didn't notice this copper coin. Could there be a problem with this coin?
I saw Da Jinya pinch the copper coin with his two fingers, and just by taking a glance, he said, "This is a grave good!"
Items buried in tombs are called grave goods.
I took a closer look, and indeed, it was grave goods. There was no hair glue on the surface, but other than that, the quality and texture of the copper coin were exceptional, a classic old item.
"What kind of copper coin is this?"
"Heh, this copper coin, let me tell you, it has a great background!" Da Jinya's eyes shone as he gazed at the copper coin, pointing to the characters on the coin and asked, "Can you figure out what these characters are?"
I carefully looked at the characters on the coin.
Just like other copper coins, there were four characters written on it, one on each side of the square coin.
The first character is "万," the second character is "丨," the third character is a vague imprint, barely discernible, and the fourth character is "田."
I can't understand each of these characters separately, let alone figure out what they mean together.
Knowing that Dajinyao has a deep understanding of antiques, I asked him: What characters are these four?
"To talk about this character, I have to talk about this coin." Dajinyao said: This coin is a rare edition, and it is also a coin that accompanied an emperor of a generation into the afterlife.
"That's so mysterious," I exclaimed.
The rare edition coin means that there is only one version of this kind of coin in the entire world.
As for how Dajinyao knew that this coin accompanied an emperor into the afterlife? The problem, Dajinyao said, lies within these four characters. The first "万" character is the Sanskrit "万" character, the second "丨" should be a pictograph, a straight line that goes on forever, known in ancient times as "寿," hoping that life would be as endless as this line.
The third vague imprint represents "无."
The fourth character, "田," signifies land.
When these four characters are combined, it means "万寿无疆!" (Endless Longevity!) In ancient times, only an emperor dared to have these characters printed on a coin to accompany them in the afterlife!
Dajinyao gently caressed the coin and said this rare edition coin is of inestimable value.
After sighing, he casually put the coin in his pocket.
I scolded, "Take it out for me."
"Xiaoliye, are we out of our minds? Are we still solving a case? Don't be silly," Dajinyao laughed.
Haha, Dajinyao is really obsessed with money.
I reprimanded: Lao Jin, you know, Yueyun turned into a zombie because of the invasion of his inner demons. Maybe when he saw the coin, he did the same thing as you, and that's why he became a zombie, neither human nor ghost!
"Oh, why didn't you say so earlier." Dajinyao quickly took out the coin and threw it onto the table.
Compared to money, this guy treasures his own life even more.
Hmm, I scoffed as I held onto the coin and scolded Lao Jin: You old man, you don't remember a beating, don't make a fool out of this coin. Let me check first to see if there's any problem. If there's none, we can put it in our pockets.
I'm not an idiot, this coin, no one knows about it. It's only natural for the two of us to take it to exchange for money.
If this rare edition coin is really as valuable as Lao Jin said, I might be able to exchange my van for a Rolls-Royce this year.
I took the coin and carefully examined it, indeed it's a good thing. I've seen many coins, but none of them are exactly the same as this one.
"This is a good thing. Thank goodness I didn't let Shi Yin and his gang know about this coin just now, or knowing their temperaments, they might have resorted to foul play." I also caressed the coin and said.
Dajinyao continuously nodded on the side, praising me for speaking the truth.
After carefully inspecting the coin from both sides, I didn't find anything special about it, other than realizing that this coin was very valuable.
Dajinyao started urging me, saying, "Xiaoliye, if you don't find any problems, put it away quickly. Don't let your police aunt know, otherwise, she'll definitely confiscate the coin."
I said I knew, I knew, it's just for a look.
Just as I was about to put the coin away after repeatedly confirming that there were no problems, I suddenly noticed that something was wrong with the coin.
I felt like there was something inside the square hole in the middle of the coin, and it was looking at me.
"This is strange," I said to Dajinyao, pointing to the center of the coin, "Could there be something inside here?"
Dajinyao took a careful look and said: What's so strange about it? It's just a hole.
"Really? Was I just hallucinating?" I clearly saw that there was an eye staring at me from inside the square hole in the coin. Did I make a mistake?
I brought the coin closer to my eye, trying to see clearly, and indeed, inside the square hole, there was a real eye.
"Darn!" I immediately threw the coin, but it hadn't even left my hand when a pair of pale hands suddenly reached out from the square hole.
Those hands grabbed onto my head and tried to drag me fiercely into the coin.
"I'll be damned." I desperately pulled my head back, but the hands were pulling me in with all their might.
Seeing this, Dajinyao was shocked beyond belief, and he stomped his feet, shouting: "The Emperor's trap, the Emperor's trap, it's real!"
"Stop making a fuss! Hurry, help me get rid of this hand." I struggled against the hands reaching out from the coin, feeling that if I wasn't careful, I might be pulled inside.
Dajinyao was frantically at a loss, first shaking his rattle drum at the hand for a long time, which was of no use at all. Then he used the rattle drum to smack the hand, but after a long time, it didn’t work, and the hand's grip only tightened.
I was being slowly pulled towards the coin, inch by inch.
I suspected that I was going to be pulled inside the coin.
But when my head was pressed tightly against the coin, I didn't enter the coin, and my mind began to get confused. Everything in front of me started to feel surreal.
I heard a heart-wrenching scream: "Lishanshui, don't you want to become the number one Yin master in the world? Don't you want to become a legend among the Yin masters? Come, come in here, I guarantee all your wishes will come true."
My mind began to lose clarity, and I muttered incoherently, "Yes, I want to become the number one Yin master in the world. Can you help me achieve that?"
"Hehe, of course I can." A voice from inside the coin became clearer and more pleasant to my ears.
I even began to give up struggling, allowing the hands from inside the coin to pull me inside.
