But she continued to cry until he became anxious, then she sobbed and said, "It's nothing. I'm just afraid that you might not want me in the future."
He was taken aback, then couldn't help but shake his head with a wry smile, seeing her tearful appearance. He couldn't help but slap her on her buttocks in annoyance, "What's going on in that little head of yours?"
She didn't answer, silently burying her head in his arms, the tears still flowing uncontrollably. Her heart was dry, as Fu Shenxing had dragged her into hell, and Liang Yuanze was the only glimpse of light she could see. Reason told her to gradually distance herself from him and then let him go, but she couldn't bear it.
She really couldn't bear it, she had to let him go. How could she climb out of that dark and lightless hell on her own?
"Yuanze?" She called his name, lifted her head to look at him, but when she met his bright clear eyes, she couldn't bring herself to confess the vile things Fu Shenxing had done to her. She could only call his name again and swear, "Yuanze, I love you. Just remember, whatever happens, I only love you."
Her disjointed words made Liang Yuanze frown slightly. He seemed to sense that something was amiss with her and asked, "What's wrong? Yan Yan, did something happen to you?"
"Nothing," she replied without thinking. As soon as she spoke, her phone in her bag chimed with a message alert. She hurriedly used this as an excuse to get up, saying, "Oh no, it must be the leaders from the hospital coming to check on us again!"
She hastily reached for her phone, but hesitated upon seeing the message. Quickly deleting the text, she turned to Liang Yuanze and said, "My colleague is urging me, please take me back home quickly!"
Liang Yuanze remained unruffled, even intentionally causing a disturbance, holding onto her sweater. Irritated, she grabbed his clothes and urged him, "Stop fooling around, hurry up! I was already late once this morning. If the leaders catch me missing from my post, I'll be in big trouble!".
Tugging at her to tease her, he didn't want her to actually get into trouble. Upon hearing her, he quickly took her to the bathroom for a quick shower, saying, "I'll come back later to check out. I'll drop you off first."
They hastily put on their clothes, and he drove her back, dropping her off directly at the hotel entrance. As she was getting out of the car, he stopped her and said with a smile, "Yan Yan, I'm staying there tonight, I'll come over tomorrow morning to have breakfast with you!"
She firmly refused, "No, you can't stay outside, hurry back home!"
Looking at her, Liang Yuanze wanted to say more, but she had already gotten into the car. Before leaving, she kissed him on the lips and pleaded, "Yuanze, please don't make it difficult for me, there are so many people watching me."
Unable to hold back a smile, he nodded, "Okay!"
She stared at him, then leaned over and bit his lips, before getting out of the car. She watched his car slowly drive away, disappearing into the night. It felt as if the last bit of warmth in her chest had been taken away, leaving her feeling cold inside and out. She stood there, dazed, until a colleague passing by called out to her in surprise, "Ms. He?"
She snapped back to reality and heard the colleague saying, "Tidy up quickly, we're done for the day. Oh, someone was looking for you earlier."
"Oh, I see, thank you." She politely smiled at the colleague and headed into the hotel lobby. She thought it might be Fu Shenxing or someone sent by him, but to her surprise, it was the young girl who had asked for Fu Shenxing's autograph.
While she glanced at the girl, she continued to tidy up at the service desk and said, "I know who you are, give me your number, I'll contact you."
The girl widened her eyes in surprise, "Ms. He? You—"
"Don't say anything here." He interrupted her and casually looked around, then said softly, "Leave quickly, don't try to get close to him in the future, it's very dangerous."
The girl was clever and nodded quickly. She took out her phone from her bag and asked, "What's your number? Let me call you, and you can save my number."
"No need." She rejected it directly and asked the girl to repeat her own number. Then she repeated it in a low voice, "I've got it, I'll call you. Now, hurry home, or go where you need to go."
After speaking, she ignored the girl and left the service desk with her things. She found the teacher who had come with her to meet briefly, then gathered dozens of students to summarize the day's work before announcing that they could all go rest and not wander around.
She hadn't turned on her phone all this time, so she didn't know if Fu Shenxing had contacted her after sending the command to "come" in the text. She was testing his limits, already determined to confront him, and needed to know how much he could tolerate her.
This was a kind of test, but also a kind of risk.
Having finished dealing with the students, when she returned to her room, it was nearly ten o'clock. Finally, she turned on her phone, and the first message that popped up was from Liang Yuanze, who said he was already home and asked her to rest assured. Fu Shenxing had been quiet all this time, and there were no messages from him. Honestly, she felt uneasy inside. Fu Shenxing was not someone to give up easily. After a moment of calm, a storm might be coming.
Sitting on the bed, holding her phone, she was lost in thought. At ten thirty, her phone suddenly rang. Even though she had been mentally prepared, she still reflexively flinched before looking at the caller ID. It was Fu Shenxing's number, an hour and a half after his last text. This was all the patience he could afford for now.
"I've said I don't like waiting for people," he said.
She had roommates, so she walked to the corridor while still holding her phone, and instead of being consistently cold as before, she softened her tone and explained in a low voice, "I've been occupied with something all this time. The leaders emphasized that we shouldn't wander around at night, and I have colleagues staying in the same room with me. I really can't leave."
Fu Shenxing remained silent and didn't say a word.
Pausing for a moment, she took a deep breath and continued, "Fu Shenxing, could you please be a little more reasonable?"
"Who is the person staying in the same room as you?" He suddenly asked.
She was stunned for a moment, then said the name of her colleague and couldn't help but ask him, "What do you want to do?"
